The Challenge: Product Packaging and Custom Gift Box for a Popular Fragrance
The Dream Angels fragrance line by Victoria’s Secret is a line of feminine scents. As part of the design team, I managed the product packaging and custom gift box design. I also collaborated on the revamp and update of the cap design on the original bottle.
We wanted the packaging to be elegant, simple, and eye-catching. I designed minimalistic boxes in angelic, pastel colors—baby blue, pale pink, and muted yellow. A metallic gold band around the edge of the box added a touch of grace and sophistication, symbolic of an angel’s halo. The vertical, centered, white logo popped and drew the eye. A thin celestial icon reflected the divine theme.
The pale yellow powder box with subtle golden ornate pattern detail created a sophisticated feel, while the unembellished yellow vial box tied into the minimalism of the perfume boxes. We created the “dream” and “angels” pillows to symbolize peace and serenity.
We updated the original milky white heart-shaped cap to a modern, sophisticated simple, clear, round cap.
Gift Set Design
For a fall promotion, we designed this gift set—the burgundy box was draped with a leather tie and two fall leaves. A chic handbag in classic grey with a pop of fall leaves in cream, beige, orange, and, black added a practical but posh element. The stylish cosmetic bag was also adorned with fall leaves.
For this gift set, we designed four reusable, fabric-covered boxes with bold blossom imagery in mauve, purple, and orange. The included handbag is made from the same fabric as the reusable boxes. The fabric is enticing, romantic, and trendy.
The package design and gift bag designs contributed to a long-standing successful line for Victoria’s Secret. The designs elevated and modernized the line, incorporating new styles and an updated look.
